Christopher C. Harmon

Christopher C. Harmon is the Maj Gen Matthew C. Horner Chair of Military Theory at the Marine Corps University, and an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of World Politics. He has more than 21 years of experience teaching security studies, history, military theory and strategy, including at a division of the National Defense University and the Naval War College. He was also professor of international relations at the Command and Staff College of Marine Corps University from 1993 to 2005. Dr. Harmon served executive director of the Program on Terrorism and Security Studies at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch, Germany. He holds a PhD in International Relations and Government from Claremont Graduate School, Claremont, California. He served as a legislative assistant in foreign policy in the U.S. House of Representatives. Dr. Harmon is the author of Terrorism Today, co-author of Toward a Grand Strategy Against Terrorism, and co-editor of Statecraft and Power.
